Meet Bonnie: Supporting Students Across Madison Schools

Bonnie, a WAGS clinical therapy dog, works alongside Gina Aguglia, Director of Cross Systems & Critical Response, to support students and staff throughout the Madison Metropolitan School District. Whether helping someone process grief, reduce anxiety, or simply navigate a difficult day, Bonnie provides comfort, connection, and reassurance when it’s needed most.

A calm presence can make a meaningful difference.

“I think that animals really connect with people, especially with kids. If they’re around an animal, they can have that nonverbal relationship and interaction that is an opportunity to give and receive love and affection without any fear of judgment or any concerns around what the animal is thinking or feeling.” Gina Aguglia, LCSW, Director of Cross Systems & Critical Response, MMSD

Watch the video to learn how Bonnie is making an impact across Madison schools and how WAGS clinical therapy dogs are helping strengthen communities throughout south-central Wisconsin.
